BB long distance . . CRUSHED IT! 3/9/25
Man, this impressed ME! He was so ON it! Sorry the videos are a bit shaky. . .We were moving! He was pulling nice through tall, clumpy grass. I really had to be careful of my footing. He ate very little food along the way, even at the start. Somewhere along the way I tried to adjust the camera view and accidently stopped and restarted it. So there are 2 videos. He PICKED up the article at the end! I used a glove and stuffed his toy into the glove with treats and secured it closed w/ rubberband. No self-rewarding! Question: When do I start using a START article? And HOW? Do I ask him to pick it up or DOWN on it? Or just sniff it and go? Part I Part II

well his enthusiasm was certainly better by the third track = but i am not confident the scent pads had anything to do with it. i cannot for the life of me figure out why he is not eating the food? you're putting 6 pieces on each scent pad? and he is running over all of them?
ReplyDeleteOH, finally! I've been reading your comments(THANK YOU!!!). . .but couldn't figure out how to REPLY! I have to "approve" the comments first, then "publish". Then they appear with my original blog. Yes, 6 pieces of food on each SP. He stops sporadically for the food.
DeleteDoes he eat his meals? Well? This is so much better. Not ready to add turns yet, but you are making real progress. Did you notice how he showed avoidance at the start article? The start went from “yippee food and fun” to “crap, she’s nagging me about this damn thing again.” Show us solid article behavior OFF THE TRACK and then we will add them in. Let’s not risk poisoning his just developing start behavior by adding conflict!
ReplyDeleteHe’s really improving, let’s be patient and stay the course.
