Glove games with videos
Video #1 --outside in yard. . .on lead. I should have paid him for that first (half-ass) down! He bucked a little after that . . .and I was waiting for a perfect down.
Video#2 outisde in yard, on lead. Again I should pay him for these half-ass down's! He is improving. If I did NOT have him on lead, he would grab the glove and run off with it!
Video#3 Hid potholder article in bedroom past the bathroom. He is so afraid of the bathroom (he remembers getting a bath in there as a pup). This video was the 3rd video. . .he really did NOT want to go by the bathroom, so after 2 "refusals" I gave him some sweet talk and helped him a little. Finally successful and runs with his treasure into living room.
Question: is picking up the article and prancing away ok? Just beginning training as this point. Is he going to do this on the track?
Definite progress! Proud he could resolve the conflict with the indoor glove—that was hard, and I love the way he solved it (pick it up and take it away from the scary place). Keep it up! He’s proving that training works!
ReplyDeletelove your calm demeanor, love that you are waiting him out with your mouth shut, rewards are well timed. big strong boy afraid of the bathroom - hysterical! but he worked it out, carried it away THEN did his down! keep playing these games!!
ReplyDeleteLove these - what a good boy! He is clearly making progress and giving the look of "pay up!" :)
