Fisherman Cove , 1 turn, 4 hrs

One turn. Four hours old.SP at 30 yards on both legs. One article on turn and one article at end. About 120 yards total 28°. I used DOUBLE line-ups on both legs!   I thought this would be easy for Tricks but it really wasn’t. He started off well drifted off the first turn the opposite direction. I’m trying to keep my feet still and only move forward when his spine is straight.  Working him on 10-ft lead.
He finally got to the article on the turn. Did OK on the turn but on next leg he drifted a lot to the left towards the lake. Was this because of the lake? Was it because of Goose? Was it because of ground cover change it went from to dirt and dried leaves under the trees.  Finished fine with last article.  Is it too much for him to track 2 days in a row?

 Man, this impressed ME!  He was so ON it!  Sorry the videos are a bit shaky. . .We were moving!  He was pulling nice through tall, clumpy grass.  I really had to be careful of my footing. He ate very little food along the way, even at the start.  Somewhere along the way I tried to adjust the camera view and accidently stopped and restarted it.    So there are 2 videos. He PICKED up the article at the end!  I used a glove and stuffed his toy into the glove with treats and secured it closed w/ rubberband.  No self-rewarding!      Question:  When do I start using a START article?  And HOW?  Do I ask him to pick it up or DOWN on it?  Or just sniff it and go?    Part I           Part II

Buster 2 1-turn tracks 6/15/25

Buster Snow Day. 1/7/25 TWO in a ROW!! + article practice 1/8/25

 Another straight line in the snow with Scent Pads. 90 paces total.  NO articles.   He was excited to go out!  Two weeks ago, he was running the other direction when he saw me put on my tracking books!  Now he is whining to go!  Progress! He did another GREAT track today!  I was so happy and so was Buster!  Put my gloves on this time.  Gave him some love at the start. . .he wants to hug me.  Excitement?  Frustration?  Anticipation?  Nervous?  I am learning to deal with his personality more and more.   He pulled well, but not like a bull moose from yesterday.  Much more maneagable and steady.  Ate/stopped  at almost every Scent Pad! Had a short moment of checking out something, but came right back to track.  Enjoyed his BALL at the end! Buster Snow Day.
