Aged track practice 11/21/22

 Ok, the time got away from me a little.  I intended to run the first track at 3 hours. . .instead it was 3:45.  Short grass in front yard.  35degrees?  I was not impressed.  Tricks wanted to start in 180 degrees wrong direction.  Got on right direction and pulled hard.  Had a hard time on right turn (near house) but finally figured it out.  Missed the white glove at the end.  Used S10, W15 with food at 8-9.  Not stopping for food.  I didn't think time would be an issue since he has done aged trails (24 - 30 hours old)

2nd track started parallel to road then turned into woods (uphill). 4 hours 25 minutes.  He had a little trouble on the  first leg ( a little road traffic?), did ok on turn into woods.  He loves the woods!  But missed the brown glove after the turn.  Came out of woods ok, but circled a bit to find turn.  Stopped at end glove.  

Been playing some glove games in the house.  He will DOWN for the glove in the house, but not outside.

 Man, this impressed ME!  He was so ON it!  Sorry the videos are a bit shaky. . .We were moving!  He was pulling nice through tall, clumpy grass.  I really had to be careful of my footing. He ate very little food along the way, even at the start.  Somewhere along the way I tried to adjust the camera view and accidently stopped and restarted it.    So there are 2 videos. He PICKED up the article at the end!  I used a glove and stuffed his toy into the glove with treats and secured it closed w/ rubberband.  No self-rewarding!      Question:  When do I start using a START article?  And HOW?  Do I ask him to pick it up or DOWN on it?  Or just sniff it and go?    Part I           Part II

Buster 2 1-turn tracks 6/15/25

Buster Snow Day. 1/7/25 TWO in a ROW!! + article practice 1/8/25

 Another straight line in the snow with Scent Pads. 90 paces total.  NO articles.   He was excited to go out!  Two weeks ago, he was running the other direction when he saw me put on my tracking books!  Now he is whining to go!  Progress! He did another GREAT track today!  I was so happy and so was Buster!  Put my gloves on this time.  Gave him some love at the start. . .he wants to hug me.  Excitement?  Frustration?  Anticipation?  Nervous?  I am learning to deal with his personality more and more.   He pulled well, but not like a bull moose from yesterday.  Much more maneagable and steady.  Ate/stopped  at almost every Scent Pad! Had a short moment of checking out something, but came right back to track.  Enjoyed his BALL at the end! Buster Snow Day.
